ASEAN Sustainable Urbanisation Forum (ASUF)

The ASEAN SustainableUrbanisation Forum (ASUF) 2025 stands as a landmark event, being the firsturban forum hosted by an ASEAN Chair. This forum underscores the pressing needfor a collaborative and unified approach to tackle the complex challenges posedby urbanization in the region. Among its key focus is to strengthen localpolicy frameworks, promote innovative mechanisms and harness new technology forthe development of inclusive and sustainable cities, and to enhance regionalcooperation. ASUF emphasizes on the importance of engaging key stakeholders - government,urban planners, industry experts, and community member, with a shared goal ofachieving a sustainable urban future. 

ASUF will serve as adynamic platform for discussions and collaborations on pivotal challenges and opportunities in sustainable urbanization. The anticipated outcomes of the forum include actionable recommendations, the exchange of best practices, and the development of innovative solutions that will propel sustainable urbanization efforts across ASEAN. Through this collective effort, ASUF aims to pave the way for a more resilient, equitable, and environmentally conscious urban landscape in the region.

ASEAN Governors and Mayors Forum (AGMF) – formerly known as ASEAN Mayors Forum

Event

The ASEAN Governors and Mayors Forum (AGMF) was originally conceived in 2011 as ASEAN Mayors Forum (AMF) when visionary mayors in Southeast Asia met for the first time in Surabaya, Indonesia, to demonstrate the importance of local contributions to ASEAN's regional integration. It has received accreditation from ASEAN in 2018 and is a recognised platform for local governments across ASEAN Member States to exchange experiences, best practices, and solutions, focusing on sustainable development, urban challenges, and regional integration. AGMF has made a significant impact on the ASEAN community, contributing to the overall development and integration of the region. The forum's impact extends beyond individual cities, creating amore cohesive and prosperous region for the benefit of all ASEAN citizens.

Meeting of Governors and Mayors of ASEAN Capitals (MGMAC)

MGMAC provides aplatform for governors and mayors of ASEAN capitals to convene to discuss development strategies, challenges, andbest practices, fostering ASEAN Community growth and integration. The establishment of this meetingwas a significant step towards addressing the increasing challenges faced bycities in the region, such as rapid urbanization, environmental degradation,and social inequality. Its efforts have fostered stronger inter-citycooperation, promoted sustainable urban development practices, and facilitatedregional integration by promoting economic cooperation, tourism development,and the sharing of best practices of ASEAN Capitals.

Located in the heart of the city, as part of the Kuala Lumpur city center (KLCC) precinct, overlooking the iconic Petronas Twin Towers and the lush 50-acres KLCC Park.

Opening & Registration

Badge collection is to done at the Registration Counter of Hall 4 and 5 of the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

ASUF/AGMF/MGMAC 2025 participants are requested to register online and in advance to facilitate smooth coordination of the issuance of name badges for all participants. Kindly log on to the  ASUF/AGMF/MGMAC 2025 website and ensure that you are properly registered.

Access to the venues is subject to the presentation of an identification badge. For identification and security reasons, all participants are requested to wear their name badges at all times during the Forum.
