URBANICE Malaysia facilitated community engagement in Taman Harmoni Buntong located in Ipoh Perak to include resident voice in shaping the rehabilitation and construction of Komuniti Hab in their neighbourhood which have been vacant since early 2000s. The community meeting in Taman Harmoni Buntong sought to understand resident priorities for Komuniti Hab programming and envision how the rehabilitation and development of the new space can help in community and economic development.
URBANICE Malaysia collected and analysed resident-identified needs and opportunities for open space improvements through our Komuniti Hab intervention. The residents selected and shaped seven interventions to be implemented in Taman Harmoni :
1. Recreational Park for elderly
2. Community garden
3. Community-shared bicycle
4. Art & Culture community centre
5. Komuniti Bomba
6. Recycle Toys library
7. Mini Library
More than 50 residents from Taman Harmoni came for the community meeting made up of from children, youth to senior citizens to help us understand what is great about this community and collectively build a shared vision for neighbourhood change.
