About Event

Virtual briefing - Local and Regional Governments & SDG 14 implementation: Mobilizing commitments towards the 2022 United Nations Ocean Conference. Norliza Hashim CEO Urbanice Malaysia has shared Closing The Loop (CTL) Project for Kuala Lumpur.   This project is a collaboration between Urbanice Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur City Hall, UNESCAP & IGES. CTL aims to make the use & management of plastic more circular to increase the recovery rate & reduce the leakage of plastics into the marine environment, supporting the implementation of SDGs 11, 12 & 14. The forum is to :

a. To create awareness amongst cities and regions & their networks about the 2022 UN Ocean Conference, including the preparatory process, and opportunities of engagement;

b. To initiate a discussion on how to mobilize new Ocean Action commitments & initiatives by cities and regions that could become part of the outcome of the Conference.
